My puppy was dropped and cries when picked up. Should I see a vet?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | unneutered

My Fiance dropped our puppy. He landed on his side and started wailing loudly (He is around 8 weeks old), he continued crying while we held him but stopped when we set him down. We gave him a treat and he ate it, seemed fine, and walked off. We tried to pick him up again and he started wailing loudly again. We set him down and he went to his bed and fell asleep. I'm worried that something might be wrong that we aren't able to see. Should I take him to the emergency vet?

I would bring him to be seen by a vet if he still is painful after his nap. They will be able to isolate the source (leg sprain or fracture vs injury to a rib vs. back pain) and get his medication to be more comfortable. If they are worried they may take an x-ray. Hope beau is feeling better soon!
