My cat moved her kittens outside. Did she forget where they are?

My cat gave birth to kittens a few days ago and yesterday night she moved them outdoors somewhere i don't know. but she still searches the kittens indoors. is it possible that she has forgot where she kept the kittens?

Unfortunately, this is possible. She also may have placed them somewhere outside where the kittens were susceptible to predators. Kittens will not survive long on their own, so depending on how long they may have been without their mother, this situation could be dire. I would spend some time searching the property and the surrounding neighborhood to see if you can find anything that looks like a nesting area. If you can, try and move the kittens back to somewhere that is safe for both them and the mom. Hope this helps.

    It is unusual to forget where the kittens are, especially because of the scent marks used between queen and kittens which help locating them. It is more likely that she was sensing the same smell indoors and it was confusing her, or that somebody or another animal has moved them from where they were and she started looking for for them indoors.
