Why does my rabbit have thick dandruff on its back that won't go away?

My bunny has very thick what looks like dandruff on his back. I thought that it was just because his coat was coming in but it hasn't gone away...

That certainly looks like seborrhea to me. The most common cause of this type of symptom in rabbits is called a fur mite (cheyletiella). To treat or prevent these types of mites, the use of Revolution (a preventative marketed for dogs and cats) should be used. In order to determine if this is the cause definitively, a skin scraping would be needed. Sometimes, diagnosing these can be tricky even when you know exactly what you are looking for, so often it is better to just try and treat to see if there is any improvement.
