Why is my senior dog coughing blood and sleeping a lot?

My dog has been clearing his throat loudly since last night and he just coughed and a tiny bit of bloody mucous came out. He's also been sleeping a lot since yesterday. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 15 years and 9 months old | 75 lbs
