Updated On September 23rd, 2025

I have a baby sparrow(house sparrow) with very low furr on his skin(nestling bird). He used to chirping while eating but one day on feeding I mistakenly filled his mouth with with food and after that his chirping is stopped. He now only make a very low sound of cricking like he is breaking some sort of grain( like tick tick). I used to feed him whole grain cerelac. Please help me fast. I think its a day or so in this condition.

It is possible he/she may have aspirated some food into the lungs. This can lead to respiratory infection or even pneumonia. The bird should be examined by a wildlife veterinarian or a vet experienced in treating birds.
