Why is my baby sparrow lethargic, can't stand, and has watery poop?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Bird | Unknown - Bird | Male | unneutered

I'm taking care of a baby sparrow(about 10 days) until I can get it to a rehab center. It was fine the last 2 days but today it seems very lethargic and it can't hold itself up. I found it sleeping on its back this morning if that has anything to do with it. It also had watery poops which it hasn't had the past 2 days.

Sorry to hear Pongo isn't doing well. It would be best to get him to a rehab center ASAP so that he can start to get care for any illness he may have. The watery poops could be a sign of illness or that he isn't being fed the correct diet for his species. Extended watery stool may also lead to dehydration or weakness. Keeping him warm and quiet and getting him to a rehab center quickly is best.
