This small amount of chocolate should not cause any toxic effects in your dog (only 2 to 3 chips). If your dog has a very sensitive GI tract she could have some stomach upset (i.e. diarrhea) but it is unlikely with that few chips being ingested.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It really depends on how much Lola weighs and how much chocolate she ate. If she’s a large dog it is likely not concerning. If she’s a small dog you may see some vomiting or diarrhea. If you are concerned I would recommend contacting Pet Poison Control and give them the pertinent information. They can guide you if medical intervention is necessary. Good luck and kisses to Lola!

Toxicity greatly depends on how much was ingested, the type of chocolate (milk and white chocolate are less of an issue than dark chocolate/cocoa). If you believe Bella ate a toxic amount or is showing signs of illness such as vomiting, diarrhea, etc then seeking veterinary care ASAP is best. If you are unsure if how much she ate is harmful, you can contact the Pet Poison Helpline (there is a fee for this service) for more assistance and to see if you need to seek veterinary care: https://www.petpoisonhelpline.com/
