Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Male | neutered | 9 years and 2 months old | 16.5 lbs
My 9 year old shih tzu recently had dental surgery (2 months ago) to extract some teeth and remove tarter. His blood report came back virtually flawless at that time. He now has a small growth on the inside of his lip. The vet would like to do surgery but after going through several oral oncology books I can not find anything similar to it. He also had bad allergies to royal canin and we put him on venactyl-p and wellness simple foods. I have attached pictures of the lump. I need a second opinio

It appears the lesion on the gum sits right where it would contact the canine. This may suggest a reaction to plaque formation on the tooth. Sparky's immune system may be responding to bacteria present in his mouth that lead to periodontal disease. Your sharp eye may have caught this condition in its early stages. Brushing daily and the use of oral rinses or barrier sealants may resolve the lesion. Your veterinarian or veterinary dentist will need to confirm the diagnosis. If a malignancy is diagnosed, you can consult with a veterinary oncologist and your vet on the best course of action.
