My german shepherd aged10 yrs has a brown what looks like dried mud on the side of her nostril, it doesn't bother her and has only been there a day or two. Any ideas

It could be dried blood from a nosebleed. I would watch her carefully to make sure she isn't dripping blood or sneezing blood. This is most likely what happened, and hopefully it was an isolated incident and doesn't continue. If it does, she needs an exam and X-rays of her skull to make sure she doesn't have a tumor or foreign body in her nasal passage causing bleeding.
