according to my friend's dog his eyes started to produce eye boogers in a week he doesn't take actions since he think it's normal. then one day he notice some changes, his eyes started to swollen. after 3 days we visited the vet earlier and gave prescription. My question is, are the prescribed medicine enough? will it work? I kinda have doubts. I'm so worried. Co -Amoxiclav 875 mg (1/2 tab 2x a day for 7 days)

Hello. I am sorry that Jango isn't feeling well. He defenitely looks like he has an infected eye. Co-Amoxiclav is a good first line antibiotic, and may resolve his issues. The dose is 12.5mg/kg PO q12, and 7 days is an appropriate time frame. So yes, this medication is appropriate and should help clear it up unless it is a more complicated infection. I would try this first and see if it resolves. The only thing you may want to talk to your vet about, if the infection re-occurs, is getting a 3 week course of a cephalexin. Start with what you have an see how it responds, but if it is getting worse instead of better bring Jango back to your vet right away. Good luck with him!
