How to safely reduce morning feedings for my 11-month-old cat?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 11 months and 2 days old

My 11-month-old cat is turning one soon. I have been feeding him dry food and wet food twice a day and want to cut back his morning feeding. What is the best way?

Milo is a very handsome boy! I'm not sure why you want to cut back his morning feeding, as cats should be fed at least twice a day. I'd only recommend cutting back his food if he was overweight. I would have him seen by a vet for a health check to see if they feel he is overweight or not before cutting back his food. I hope this helps :-)
