Pet's info: Dog | Maltese | Female | unspayed | 3 years and 11 months old | 4 lbs
I need your opinion on this:Last time I took my small beautiful bean to the vet to get her ears checked because she had an infection and she needed her ears cleaned. However the one vet tech called her colleague who happens to be a groomer and she then took her to clean the ears and as Bella has fear of veterinarians ever since she was a puppy, the groomer used positive punishment on her and was punching her in the ribcage. After that my poor small angel was traumatised. What's your opinion?

I'm sorry to hear that Bella had this type of experience. Punching in the ribcage is never an acceptable treatment, regardless of circumstance, and will only serve to instill more fear in Bella. Please make sure that your vet and vet tech are aware that this type of treatment occurred to avoid future incidents. The next time Bella needs to go to the vet, try to make it a positive experience - reward good behavior with treats, using a calming pheromone collar (Adaptil is one example), and comfort her when possible.
