My cat was exposed to dried Raid. Is it still harmful to them?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 10 months and 29 days old | 9 lbs

We have an ant problem so we went to the store to buy something that was safe for cats. Unfortunately we only found raid and now we have our cats locked indoors. They love being outside so we won't be able to keep them inside for very long. If we wait for it to dry will it still harm them?

Once the Raid is dried and absorbed into the environment / objects, Chloe should not be in any significant danger of permethrin toxicity. In theory, if she were to find an area that didn't dry and lapped enough of it up, it could certain cause a toxic episode. If you are concerned about this, I would recommend bringing Chloe inside but perhaps secluding her to areas that are not sprayed. If this is possible, it's probably your safest bet.
