My dog Norma, gave birth to 5 puppies very early this morning. Later this afternoon, hours after she had delivered the 5th puppy, I realized there was a 6th puppy stuck inside of her. I managed to pull the puppy out of her and it was dead. I'm curious to know what I should do next to keep Norma healthy for the other 5 puppies?

I recommend a vet visit to make sure that she doesn't have any retained placentas or another dead pup inside. Both these conditions can set her up for life-threatening infection. If she is eating and drinking normally, and does not have a high temperature, she is likely ok.
