Why is my horse reluctant to eat and acting grumpy in his stable?

Pet's info: Farm Animal | Horse | Male | neutered

Hi there. My horse was very reluctant to go into his stable tonight but when I did eventually get him in he only ate a little bit and as I said very reluctantly so. He seemed slightly grumpy and not his usual self. He doesn't look like he is in pain in any way and he has got no swellings any where. it is just odd behaviour of his. What do you think this could be from?

Your horse could have a mild colic or some other medical issue going on. I would watch him carefully to make sure he starts to eat normally, is drinking water, and passing stool. If he is rolling, looking at his sides, acting uncomfortable, and not passing stool he is likely feeling colicky and needs to see a veterinarian. Hope that helps!
