How to stop my puppy from barking at outside dogs with windows open?

Question

Any tips on how to teach my puppy not to bark in the house when he hears another dog bark outside? Now that the weather is warmer, I open the windows more and if he hears barking, he starts too. If I tell him to stop, he usually stops but I'd like to prevent it so I can leave the windows open at night etc. Pet's info: Dog | Havanese | Male | unneutered | 11 months and 16 days old

This is normal dog behavior. You can try to distract him as much as possible with long lasting food treats like Kongs stuffed with peanut butter, and give him this when he is NOT barking. You certainly don't want to reinforce/reward the behavior you are trying to fix.
