Can I give my cat Comfortis flea treatment after a rabies shot?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Scottish Fold | Male | neutered | 12 lbs

My cats had rabies booster shots 48 hours ago. Is it ok to give them their Comfortis flea treatment, I am overseas and my vet said we needed to wait 10 days, even though he had no idea what the product even was. Is it ok to give them their comfortis. Thank you.

I am not aware of a direct reason you could not give the comfortis to BAiley at this point. Perhaps the vet wanted you to separate the medication from vaccination just to help determine causality in the event Bailey had any side effects - decreased appetite, vomiting etc. if he is behaving normally at this point it should be safe to give him his comfortis.

Hello there and thank you for your question regarding Bailey. It should be perfectly safe to give comfortis to him at this time. Please make sure you are giving comfortis for cats to him and it is best given with or directly after a meal.
