Why is my dog digging up the yard and destroying the carpet?

Pilot is starting to dig outside and he's starting to dig inside at our carpet and it's starting to bring the carpet up!!! What do I do?! Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 3 months and 26 days old | 104 lbs

Often pets start digging behaviors when they are bored. Making sure pilot gets a lot of exercise and mental stimulation will help a lot. Puppy training classes are great! You can also try other mental tasks at home like treat puzzles (you can purchase from your local pet store). Blocking access to the dirt and carpeted area unless supervised will help prevent home damage in the meantime. I love Pilot's name!!
