I recently brought home 2 kittens (calico, Lulu; darker one, Rita); age is unknown, but they appear to be about 4-5 weeks. I was made aware that Lulu has worms (not sure what type) and an eye cold. She seems to be having a bit of trouble using the bathroom - it takes a little effort to convince her that she needs to potty. I got some worm medicine (HomeoPet) which gives directions for kittens <1lbs (2 drops per 8oz water), but doesn't specify age. Is she old enough to give the medicine to?

I am a little concerned about many over-the-counter deworming products as they are often not effective and sometimes even cause some toxicity issues. I recommend a full exam for these kittens by your veterinarian, and a product like pyrantel as a dewomer because it is safe and effective for kittens. This way your vet can see if there is something physically wrong with the kitten that is having trouble passing stools.
