My dog's eye has a bump, morning discharge, and is red. What's wrong?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 100 lbs

My dog has a small bump on upper eyelid. Producing discharge most notable in the mornings and there is redness in the white part of the eye.

The vast majority of eyelid masses are benign, but it sounds as though Jasper's mass is causing some irritation to his eye given the redness and discharge. It sounds as though he should be examined by his vet and will likely need to have the mass removed. If Jasper seems to be scratching at his eye or rubbing it on anything, make sure that he is wearing an e-collar (cone) to prevent injury to the eye itself. I hope that he is on the mend soon!
