Why is my dog's pupil suddenly pinhole size in one eye? Vet needed?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Female | unspayed | 4 months and 21 days old | 20 lbs

Hi there, I have a 5 month old SIberian Husky, one of her pupils went to the size of a pinhole, it almost looked like she went blind in one eye but was fine 30 minutes beforehand, but the other eye is completely fine. I just want to know if theres anything I can do, and if I should take her to the vet, she has all her shots if that matters.

Lancelot's sudden pupil asymmetry is certainly concerning for underlying neurologic issues. At this point, if everything else is normal, you can continue monitoring her for changes. However, if you notice this again, try to capture her pupils and overall behavior on video and take her to the vet for a full neurologic exam.
