Why is my indoor/outdoor cat lethargic, gagging, and acting strange?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 21 lbs

Hello, my male cat (around 6 years old) has been lethargic for over 24 hours and has gagged a few times as well. He is an indoor/outdoor cat, we think he may have eaten something? His demeanor is completely different, although he has managed to keep eating

Poor Milson! Lethargy could be caused by systemic illness, infection, inflammation, or injury. It could also be due to something that he ate outside. Given that he is still eating, I would keep an eye on him for the next 24 hours and if he's still lethargic after this time, then I would have him seen by a vet for a health check.
