You will need to read the product label to determine if it is safe for domestic fowl. Wood ash or food grade diatomaceous earth can be dusted all over the duck to treat or prevent infestation. Garlic juice can also be sprayed on them. Being that ducks are water down, they aren't as prone to lice and mites as chickens are. They are also flock animals and do better in pairs or groups. The website www.backyardchickens.com is an excellent resource for information regarding the care of domestic fowl.
