Can a human mole transmit to my dog? Is it a risk for my pet's health?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 72 lbs

Hi so I asked a similar question yesterday but I just wanted to ask it in a different way to make things a little clearer for me. So I know that there are some zootonic diseases. So my question is whether it is possible for a mole on someone's skin to transmitt to a dog. I've read on multiple websites that no mole is contagious. So is there anything to worry about a mole affecting a dog in any way. Or since everyone says it's not contagious for humans then everything will be fine with pets.

True moles cannot be transferred but viral warts can be transfferred from dog to dog (or human to human); moles can also turn cancerous. It is always worth getting a professional diagnosis if any lump chnages in character

Moles are not contagious. However, if your skin lesion is not truly a mole and is related to a virus (like a papilloma) or ringworm, this type of lesion would be contagious. If you are very concerned about your mole, I recommend going to your doctor to have it evaluated.
