Pregnant cat coughing, wheezing, and vomiting. Should I see a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 1 year old | 5 lbs

My friends cat i'm watching is about 60 days pregnant and started coughing and wheezing two days ago now she has been throwing up clear mucus. She has been eating and drinking normally as far as i can tell. My cat was sneezing and coughing but he is fine now. I think from whom I've spoken with she may have either a cold or an upper respiratory infection and should see a vet if it doesn't clear up soon. I would like an opinion from a professional.

I'm sorry Mago isn't feeling well at the moment! It's good that she has been eating and drinking normally, but it is concerning that she is coughing, throwing up mucus, and wheezing. Because her health is so important for her kittens, I would have her seen by a vet in the morning. The vet can prescribe medications if needed to treat her symptoms. I hope this helps!
