Dog attacked my cat. She's bleeding, lethargic. Is she seriously hurt?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Maine Coon | Female | spayed | 10 years and 4 months old | 25 lbs

This morning our occasionally aggressive dog attacked our oldest cat. (He is being euthanized the 15th, training is not working) She was bleeding from her mouth and nose not sure of the injury. Eye was bloody as well. All bleeding has stopped other than a bit of bloody drool and when she sneezes. She is lethargic, but responsive and can walk, see, etc. She is currently under the coffee table and looks very uncomfortable/weird. Should I be worried, or is she just in shock? Thank you in advance...

Yes, I would be concerned that there may be internal injuries, especially as she is bleeding when she sneezes and she is also likely to be in significant pain and discomfort. Dog bites are at significant risk for infection also so I strongly recommend a full check up by your vet
