Can a Boxer's blockage from rags cause diarrhea, mucus, and vomit?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Can a blockage cause diarrhea that contains mucus in a boxer? My dog had an accident in the house which never happens. The stool was loose and was almost gel like. His behavior was totally normal. We sectioned him off into our kitchen/laundry room for the night. Went out to check on him and there were 3 piles of vomit (no blood), another pile of loose stool and some drops of blood around it. I looked through his vomit and 2 of the 3 piles were ether rags or baby wipes. Can that cause this stool?

Yes, partial obstructions can cause irriation of the bowel and allow small volumes of liquid stool to pass by. I recommend a check up and abdominal x-ray or ultrasound in order to rule out any remaining foreign bodies and inflammation/distension of the bowel
