My pug is coughing, honking, and gagging frequently. What should I do?

Hello my pug is coughing most times of the day making like a honking sound or something trying to regurgitate something. What should i do its bothering her day to do life?.

It's possible that Minnie may have contracted a virus called "Kennel Cough" or may be experiencing complications from have a shortened bronchial passage. You'll want to visit your local Veterinarian to rule out the presence of any infection or virus. Minnie may also be experiencing complications do to allergies. You'll want to monitor her for any discharge or drainage and let your doctor know about that as well.

    There are many reasons pugs can cough - common causes are infections, parasitesm penumonia and deformities of their airways. Tracheal disease and excessive flesh in the back of the throat are very common due to the shape of their head and weak caritlage - surgica reconstruction can sometimes help reduce the symptoms. A full health check and possibly xrays by your vet would be required to assess the underlying causes and determine what treatment if any can be given to try to relieve her symptoms
