Are these bird mites? How to identify them and keep them off my cat?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Are these bird mites? Also will a treatment of white vinegar then dish soap work? As I've done that. I just want to know if there mites. Don't want them on my cat.

They actually look like maggots to me, however, it's hard to tell. I think cleaning with vinegar and dish soap then rinsing with warm water should help to keep the glass clean. Dispose of the infestation in tied plastic bag to keep them from spreading.

It's hard to tell exactly what they are. From your picture, they actually look like maggots. You'll want to continue to use the vinegar cleaning solution and rinse afterwards with clean water. Be sure to dispose of the food, mold, and infestation in a trash bag. Better safe than sorry, when if comes to your Pets.
