Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Male | unneutered | 14 lbs
Trying to figure out what happened don't know if it is a bite or rock or grass irritation.has vet app tommorow.have been doctoring was better but he won't leave it alone

Ouch, poor Charlie! I do think having him seen by a vet tomorrow is the best idea. Unfortunately the picture is a little blurry, but the area does look red and possibly swollen. I would put an Ecollar on Charlie to keep him from licking at it, and I can give you a website that details how to make one at home: http://dogsaholic.com/care/homemade-dog-cone.html

He might have been bitten or injured himself. I don't think this requires an ER vet visit, but keep an eye on him. In case he did get bit by something, if you see hives, swelling of the face and muzzle, or difficulty breathing, have him seen by an ER vet right away. Otherwise, take him into the vet in the morning. Put an Ecollar on him tonight to keep him from biting at it. I will put a link below on how to make one at home.
