My Yorkipoo has retained baby teeth & liver issues. How to prevent infection?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Female | unspayed | | 4 lbs

My yorkipoo is about 8 months now and can't be spayed because of liver issues. So another problem we are running into is she still has her baby canines and I am worried they get infected. Our vet keeps wanting blood test after blood test and it costing hundreds. do you have any suggestions for us ? thank you so much

Regular tooth brushing of the area and rope chews with applied tothpaste can help to keep the teeth cleaned but it is difficult to access the area between the baby and adult teeth. Referral to a specialist centre for anesthesia and surgery may be a consideration depending on the severity and long term prognosis of the liver condition
