My rabbit is sad, eating less hay, and pooping less. Is he depressed?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Male | neutered | 8 months and 13 days old | 6 lbs

my rabbit just loved to pee on my bed (even though there was a litter box on my bed and he's nutered) it got to the point where I just gave up and took away his bed privileges and blocked it off. Ever since I've done that he's been a little bit less energetic and more moppy and laying down and my biggest concern he's been eating lesser hay then usual, and his amount of poop decreased just a slight bit(not a drastic decrease just a little bit). Now I don't if he's depressed or just hay picky

It sounds like Twitch might be a little shocked over his environmental change. If he was used to having free range over things like the bed and is now prohibited, this can be somewhat stressful. As long as he is eating a sufficient amount of food an continuing to poop close to his normal amount, I would not really start thinking he is truly ill just yet.
