My 10.5 week aussiedoodle had his 2nd round of puppy boosters this morning and immediately had several rounds of diarrhea and vomiting when we got home. I took him back to the vet and they've given him an inflammatory and say he's not anaphylactic. He also threw up something that looked like cartilage. Does this sound like a normal negative shot reaction, or upset tummy? The timing seemed so close to the shots. Should I be worried about his final round of shots or do them any differently?

Hello. I am sorry Fiddle isn't feeling well. It is important to note that you can have a reaction to a vaccine that isn't an anaphylactic reaction. The vomiting and diarrhea could have been a reaction to the vaccine or could have been gastritis. The fact that cartilage came up is more suggestive that it could have been a gastritis. Either way you won't know for sure. For the third set you may want to pre treat with an anti histamine +\- steroid. Discuss this with your vet. Also you can make sure you have time to hang around the clinic (or nearby) for an hour or so after the vaccines just in case he does have a worse reaction. Good luck with Fiddle.
