Mycotic diseases of the integumentary in pet birds are most frequently due to Malassezia spp. with treatment being a combination of oral and topical antifungals. Dermatophytosis, including Trichophyton and Microsporum spp is also occasionally reported in pet birds. Treatment protocols for dogs and cats are used.
