My dog's snout is pink and swollen. Is it an emergency? What to do?

My dog is a white coated dog with brindle. Around his snout is usually white but now it's appearing a pinkish color and it's swollen. What do I need to do about this? Is this an emergency type situation?

That is probably not an emergency situation but the nasal planum (from your description) seems inflamed and probably infected. A veterinary check up is needed as soon as the vets are available, but if the swelling tends to increase or spread I would recommend an immediate consultation. A picture would definitively help me to understand better the underlying cause of it. Please do not hesitate to contact us again on the forum or by requesting a consultation if you have any more questions or to discuss it any further.
