My 5-month-old Shih Tzu puppy won't eat. Is she sick or full?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Female | unspayed | 5 months and 12 days old

Bella (5 months old Shih Tzu) doesn't want to eat this morning and lunch. Although I gave her food last night and she also ate again at midnight. I already gave her vitamins this morning and whenever I give her food to eat, she doesn't want to eat it. She does not seem to be sick because she would want us to play but I don't know why she doesn't eat the food that I give her. Please help.

If Bella ate dinner last night and again at midnight, it is possible that she is not hungry. However, if she continues to not eat through the remainder of the the day, I would recommend you take her to the veterinarian because this could be a sign of illness. If you notice any lethargy, vomiting or diarrhea, you should take her to the veterinarian right away.
