Hello I recently adopted a cat who's one year old and just noticed she has a black bump in her inner lower lip, is it normal

Congrats on your new cat! This bump on Arya could be from an injury or it could be a benign tumor. It would be a good idea to have it checked out by a vet just to make sure there is nothing concerning about it. The vet can let you know if it needs to be treated or not.

This lump you describe could potentially be something like an abscess for example. At her appointment on Wednesday, your veterinarian could easily check for this possibility. If an abscess was noted, further local therapy with drainage and antibiotics would be recommended. These are usually easy to take care of when treated appropriately and do not represent a big concern. Good luck and best wishes!

Hi! My cat has a tiny lump on the edge of her mouth. It doesn’t seem to hurt her and look benign but we aren’t sure if we should get her checked. Does this look like something normal or should we go get it checked?
I would continue to monitor closely over the next 3-4weeks (take weekly pictures to compare); it looks quite benign and is unlikely to be anything sinister in such a young kitten but any redness, increase in size or discomfort should be checked by your vet as soon as possible

Hi, My 10 year old cat has developed a lump on her lower lip. Not sure if it's normal or not.
While there is normally irregular bumps around that area of the lip, it is usually not that big. I would have your vet check it to be sure. It maybe a growth or an infection or inflamed from that tooth rubbing it

It could be an area swollen from her hitting her chin on something or it could be an infection / pimple (acne). If it does not resolve on its own, I would recommend having Mouse examined by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I hope this helps! Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! I think I see what you are referring to, it is very small like 2mm pink skin growth on the right side by his whiskers? It's hard to say it likely is a skin tag or a sebaceous adenoma. I always recommend any new growth be evaluated by your Vet. You can also monitor it for growth. Hello, & thank you or using Boop by Petco. Unfortunately your picture did not come through, but I would not be too concerned if the bump just showed up. It may be a reaction to a bite if your cat hunts, or it might be an allergic reaction to something. In a young cat, it is very unlikely to be very serious or contagious. If your cat is eating well & does not seem too bothered by it, then give it a couple of days to see if it goes down. Of course, if you are at all concerned, see your vet at your earliest convenience. Although a picture would help to determine the underlying nature of the lump, this kind of lump/growth needs to be ideally assessed by your veterinarian to have a definitive and specific answer. Usually there are two ways your vet can do that a part from examining it directly during physical examination. A biopsy can be taken under local or general anesthetic, otherwise a smaller sample through a fine needle can be aspirated (this technique is called FNA= fine needle aspiration). Differentials include skin cysts, infections, benign or more sinister type of tumors. I just noticed a growth on my cats lip area. I’m pretty sure it’s new. Should I be concerned?
Hello and thank you for contacting Boop by Petco. A lump in this area could be due to local gum / skin infection but it also could be a tumor (benign or malignant). A visit at your local vets is recommended to examine Gabby in full and decide on the treatment plan. Your vet may want to prescribe a course of antibiotics or anti-inflamatory agent first, to treat the inflammatory / infectious process. If this treatments does not help, a needle aspiration or surgical removal of the growth may be necessary.

My cat has a bump on her chin and it's black as well. She didn't have it yesterday and I noticed it today (8/10/17) in the morning. What could it be?
This looks like it could be a scab or potentially feline acne. Feline acne can be related to using a plastic or dirty food bowl so you may want to switch to glass or ceramic if you have a plastic bowl. It does not typically require treatment and does not bother the cat. If this lesion is getting bigger, if you notice redness or discharge or if it seems to be bothering Lydia I would recommend having your vet examine it.

hello my kitten is 2 months old i'm concerned about her because she has a little bump under her lips it's red but i don't think she's hurting from it should i be worried?
Chloe is adorable! I would recommend having your veterinarian examine the area next time Chloe goes in for her next kitten vaccination. We commonly see mild skin infections in kittens that can cause some redness, hair loss and swelling, but often have to do some skin cytology and look at a sample under the microscope to determine if the problem is bacterial, fungal or parasitic (such as mites). If the area is growing rapidly or appears to be bothering her, I would certainly recommend having it evaluated right away, but otherwise, I think you can just have you vet evaluate it at her next regular appointment and decide if it needs any treatment at that time.
