Pet's info: Other | Unknown - Other | Male | unneutered | 3 years and 4 months old | 2.2 lbs
My guinea pig has been making strange hooting noises when he breaths. It comes and goes with varying intensity. I noticed it about 3 weeks ago. Other than that he has no other obvious symptoms and seems like his usual happy self. Weight has been stable, eating, drinking, excited about his snacks etc. Best course of action for a university student (studying to be a vet!) with very little money?

This sign might be compatible with a chronic respiratory tract inflammation/infection, even though is quite vague at this stage. My suggestion would be to just monitor him in case you notice any other sign (lethargy, inappetence, coughing, sneezing, any evident discharge from nose and so on). Please do not hesitate to contact us again on the forum or by requesting a consultation if you have any more questions or to discuss it any further.
