My dog has a thin fur patch on his side, but it's not itchy or red.

Question

How come my dog has a weird thin hair patch on his side? My dog has a med-small patch of thin hair. Its not coming out when pulled but you can see his skin if twist but it looks like a lighter patch of fur. Not sure what this is. When i touch it theres jist smooth healthy skin, not red or hurtful to him nor its scapy. Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 1 month old | 41.8 lbs
