Why is my boxer puppy bending his back and can't lift his head?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Boxer | Male | 3 months and 25 days old

I have a 5-month-old boxer puppy. Suddenly, 3 days ago he woke up and started limping.then I took him to a veterinarian and he gave me some med but it is getting worse day by day. He doesn't limp now but he has been bending his back and has difficulties in raising his head. Please suggest me what is happening to him.

These signs might be compatible with a neurological disorder involving the spinal cord. Difficult to say what it is exactly without having a look at him. Congenital and infective causes are quite common in such young puppies. I would strongly recommend to have him checked again at your local veterinarian to confirm this clinical suspicion and have him treated appropriately. Please do not hesitate to contact us again on the forum or by requesting a consultation if you have any more questions or to discuss it any further.
