My puppy is 14 weeks old. She has done very very well with house training and would sleep through the night in her crate without waking us up. Now she is whining to go outside around four times per night. We take her out and she does go, but this was very sudden. What could be wrong?

If Sadie is urinating each time she goes outside overnight and urinating more frequently during the day this could be a sign of a urinary tract infection, which is not uncommon in a young female puppy. I'd recommend seeing your veterinarian who would likely check a urine sample for signs of infection. She may have also learned that if she whines to go out you'll wake up and she'll get a little play time so once you rule out a medical problem you may want to work on letting her cry for a bit in her crate before letting her out.
