Why is my unneutered male rabbit peeing on me when I hold him?

Theo is a 4 m/o male lionhead rabbit(not neutered). I've only had him for over a week and we've already bonded. He seems to be attached to me and likes me( which is not a bad thing) he licks my face, "purrs" and loves climbing on me and being held sometimes. But sometimes when i pick him up and hold him he will "purr" and pee on me!! and it's a lot of pee. It happened 3 times this week. He has somewhere to use the bathroom but he chooses to pee on me why? Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 24 days old

It may be marking behavior considering he is intact. It could also be stress/excitement or simply being held too long and he has to relieve himself. Consider having him examined by your veterinarian or a vet experienced in treating rabbits to rule out medical causes. You can discuss neutering during the appointment. In the meantime, when holding him, place a towel on your lap and make sure he has ample opportunity to use the litterbox. Watch for a raised or twitching tail which usually indicates he is about to urinate or defecate.
