My dog's a shy eater. How often to feed & are biscuits/milk okay?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 10 months old

My dog is heathy happy and energetic, but when I give him his food he is very shy and when I walk away he eats a tiny bit but not enough. I feed him Pedigree dog food and he seems to like it. I have tried different dog foods and he enjoys this one best. What would you recommend I do or try? And also how often should I feed him?And is plain dog biscuits an milk a good enough diet (occasionally with meat) Thank you

Pedigree is fine if it's a food bath Yoggie seems to enjoy. He should be fed twice a day, once on the morning and once in the evening. I would divide the daily recommended amount on the label of his food into two equal portions. He may prefer to eat alone, so I would leave him be to eat his food in peace. Plain dog biscuits are fine, but he does not need milk. Dairy actually causes GI upset in dogs, so it's not recommended to give to him. The only liquid Yoggie needs is water :-)
