My bunny has matted tail fur. Can a vet shave it to prevent flystrike?

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | spayed

Hello my bunny has matted fur on the underside of her tail that is too close to cut out and does not wash out. Otherwise she is a very clean rabbit. I'm worried she is at risk of flystrike although we are using a preventative spray. Could I take her to a vet for it to be shaved off maybe? Thanks

Yes of course you can take her to a vet to have her bum shaved. This is a very good idea. There is also a spot on for rabbits that can be given to prevent fly strike and I am sure your vet can provide it.
