My dog's adult teeth are growing in. Are extra pointy ones normal?

My dog when her her adult teeth were growing in it looke like on her top she has a total of 4 incisors. The are right up next to each other, two on each side. The one in the back is curve long and pointy and the one right in front of it is straight long and pointy. They are the same on both sides. Is this normal?

From your description, it sounds like Sophie has retained her baby canine teeth on both sides - this isn't "normal", but it is a problem that occurs frequently in toy breed dogs. The baby canine teeth will need to be removed by her veterinarian to prevent them from causing problems with the adult teeth, so I would recommend discussing this with your vet when you are able to - it's normally a quick and simple procedure :)

Dogs normally have 4 incisors on the top and on the bottom, and the shape can vary slightly. By your description, I'm curious if Sophie has lost her puppy teeth yet. Some puppies retain their puppy teeth, even after their permanent teeth erupt. In some cases, the puppy teeth will still fall out, but in other cases, they need to be surgically extracted. the next time Sophie is at her vet, ask for their opinion regarding her tooth eruption and if any dental intervention is needed.
