Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Male | neutered | 10 months and 27 days old | 4 lbs
My rabbit is primarily laying around. He has a play pen and his cage door is open almost 24/7, closed whenever it's night time but he seems to prefer more in laying in his cage, today, I made him a box house, so it's a mixture between laying there or in the box for hours. Is it because he's bored? I give him toys but he ignores anything that isn't cardboard or woven balls. It is because he's neutered that he's now calmer? He's eating and etc. I'm planning on getting him a companion soon. Normal?

Neutering rabbits can have an affect on their overall demeanor and behavior, but it should not create total personality changes usually. If he was acting completely different prior to his surgery than he is now, I would be worried that something could be medically wrong. I would have to know more about his current health status and any other clinical signs you might be noting however to make any sort of guesses at what might be going on. I would also be interested in knowing how long ago Shadow was neutered, and in relation to this when these things were noticed. In terms of companionship, rabbits definitely do better with a buddy. If you plan on introducing him to another rabbit, I would try to do it slowly. I would also recommend getting either another neutered male or a spayed female in order to minimize any likelihood of aggression.
