Can an Italian Greyhound puppy be left alone in a crate for 7 hours?

I'm thinking of getting a Italian greyhound puppy and am wondering if they could be left alone for roughly 7 hrs. I have read online that they can't but I have had some rescue groups say yes. There would be cats and tv on. He would be in a crate but there would be some activity in the house but is 7 hrs too long or would he be fine. He is also litter box trained and the he would be able to use it while crated. Pet's info: Dog | Italian Greyhound | Male | unneutered | 2 lbs

It depends on the the age of the puppy as to how long Winston can be left alone. If he is a young puppy under 6 months of age, he shouldn't be left alone for more than 3 hours at at time even though he's litter box trained. If he is over 6 months of age but younger than a year, I wouldn't leave him alone for more than 5-6 hours. Over a year, he can left alone for a max of 8 hours.
