My dog has oozing sores. Can I bathe him before his vet appointment?

Pet's info: Dog | Havanese | Male | unneutered | 15 lbs

our dog has oozing sores between his legs (yellow liquidy color on fur and skin. Is there a shampoo treatment or can a epsom salts bath help. We are taking him to the vet tomorrow

it would be better not to bathe your dog before you take him to the vet tomorrow, as it may be harder for him to diagnose the correct condition. Your vet may want to do a skin swab to culture for bacteria and/or fungi. If you wash the skin today, it may be hard for the vet to get enough bacteria or fungi off the skin to culture, and it may change the appearance enough to make it hard to diagnose. Better leave it be until tomorrow and then attack it with a vengeance according to your vet's recommendation.
