Why is my dog's drained tail cyst still lumpy? Should I be concerned?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | unneutered | 2 years and 7 months old

My dog had a cyst on his tail in the back side and was already emptied for about 3 weeks. But there is still a high there that does not want to disappear. Should I worry about this?

It does happen that cysts can refill, and if that happens it is recommended to have it removed surgically. It could be that it's starting to refill again, and you can ask your vet about having it removed surgically.
