My puppy's face is swollen with blisters after a bite. Is it serious?

Pet's info: Dog | Bulldog | Male | unneutered | 4 months and 8 days old | 50 lbs

My english bulldog puppy got bit by something last night and his face swelled up like a balloon. We gave him 50 mg of Benadryl at midnight last night, and every 4 hours since. He is acting normal, still itchy it looks like, and still a little swollen. It concerns me because he is starting to develop yellow looking blisters on his face, almost looks like heat bumps. IS this normal? How long will it take for swelling to go down?

If the Benadryl was effective, I would have expected to see a reduction in the swelling by now. Sometimes allergic reactions require stronger drugs to treat such a steroids, and it sounds like this may be the cause for Moose. Because the swelling hasn't reduced and the reaction appears to be progressing, it's time to see a vet immediately. Please take him into an ER vet clinic if your regular vet is closed; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website.
